Photos of the day -Vin Romanesc

I swear they make some of the best wines I’ve had so far.

Claud bought two cases of mixed red and white wine, and we were pleased to find two bottles of Romanian wine in the cases. We tried the wine with a roasted pork belly dinner – the combination was perfect.

I decided to try a bit of macro photography with the wine label, using a 100mm f2.8 lens on my 5DMk2

Photo of the day – a little bit of Black and White

We were at a nice little Hungarian restaurant in New Cross, and I couldn’t help taking pics of the deco and knick knacks that they sell there. I played around with the settings and somehow felt like a bit of black and white today.

Also, for a change, I used a 50mm f1.4 lens.

Photo of the day, part II – symbol of rebirth and spiritual awakening

The lotus is to the East, as the rose is to the West.

Looked through my SD card and found this photo. I shot this more than 2 years ago, when I was still living in Singapore. It was one of those days when I decided to take my 5D Mk2 out for a walk. Came across this shop near City Hall MRT, and they had this huge terracotta pot outside, filled with blooming lotus plant.

Winter by the sea: Leigh-on-Sea

Weather today was surprisingly good considering it’s winter, so we decided to go for a drive. An ex-colleague recommended Leigh-on-Sea a while back, so we thought we’d give it a go. The view was breathtaking and we look forward to visiting again and try out some pub grub…

The sun was too harsh so the photos are not that great, and there was vignetting that I can’t seem to get rid of. However, I promised hubby I’d post pictures regularly, so here they are.

I’m getting used to using manual mode on my 5D Mk2 once again. It’s been a while since I used that mode.
